Leather bags and accessories...

The Egyptian leather is well known for its good quality and good price. This natural material is widely used in the Egyptian handicraft. The items we offer you at MAISON D'ORIENT's are mostly made by an artist whose workshop in Cairo is employing around 30 people. His leather is coloured with transparent water-based dyes and treated with oils and wax to preserve its beautiful natural touch.

Here the craftsman draws his inspiration from the ethnic style, recognizable by the geometrical designs coming in quite every item. The original style of our artist is also recognizable by the large sewing stitches, the bright colours, the copper jewels used as clasps, etc.

Models are varied, from small handbags to large leather briefcases, and also leather purses, wallets, cases for glasses, hair slides, belts, etc.

Leather lamps...

Here the traditional Moroccan lamp in skin and fer forge has given the inspiration to Egyptian craftsmen. Our models are simpler and rawer, mainly plain coloured with red or orange, for a filtered, soft and coloured lighting. Our lamps are made by a craftsman from Hurghada whose leather is still treated and coloured by hand.

Frames and mirrors...

This is an original and successful idea: to put a mirror or your photographs in a leather frame, nicely engraved and decorated with ethnic and geometrical designs. At MAISON D'ORIENT's, you will find several shapes, sizes and colours for your photo frames and mirrors.
